100 gr butter (mine: 125 gr)
150 gr margarine (mine: 125 gr)
100 gr powdered sugar
3 egg yolks
375 gr low-protein flour
25 gr cornstarch
30 gr powdered milk
3 gr vanilla (mine: 8 gr)

Royal Icing Ingredients:
300 gr powdered sugar
70-80 gr egg whites
10 ml lemon/lime juice food coloring

Instructions to make Royal Icing Cookies

  1. Beat the margarine, butter, and powdered sugar with a mixer until well combined (just for a short time, about 30 seconds). Add the egg yolks one by one, mix on low speed. Add vanilla and mix until well combined. Add all the sifted flour and mix until smooth.
  2. Roll out the dough, shape it according to your preference, and place it on a baking tray.
  3. Bake at 150°C until the cookies are cooked. Remove from the oven and let them cool.
  4. Royal Icing: Mix powdered sugar, lemon juice, and egg whites with a mixer until it becomes white and thick. Add food coloring as desired. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag for use.
  5. Once the cookies are baked, reheat them with only the top heat at a temperature of 100°C for approximately 10 minutes or until the icing hardens.
